Additional Information and Recommendations by the TCI Government

COVID 19 PCR Test Guidelines

Some information to help you with your COVID 19 PCR test. We are only accepting PCR tests.

Some facts to help you with your COVID 19 PCR negative test result:

  • All test submissions must be the laboratory report, this is the only document which would provide all the information necessary for us to arrive at a decision.
  • All laboratory reports must include the patient demographics, date the sample was collected and tested/reported, sample and test type.
  • The preferred sample types are Nasopharyngeal or Oropharyngeal, these can be abbreviated NPS, NASOP or OPS. (If the sample type is anything different eg saliva or nasal, we will reject it)
  • Only molecular assays are being accepted, please look for words or abbreviations such as,

• NAA
• NAAT
• Any one of a combination of the following, E, N, ORF, RdRp
• Molecular
• PCR, rt-PCR, rt-qPCR

  • If the word antigen or antibody appears anywhere in the test name, or it is revealed that the test performed is an antibody/antigen test when reviewing the disclaimer or notes please reject.
  • In the disclaimer where a laboratory test was developed in-house please confirm it has FDA EUA if not please reject.
  • The use of home test kits should not be permitted, these samples are collected by the patient and not a medical professional. This compromises the integrity of the result.
